Nothing I can't overcome / Matiko Spring 2012

I had a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Matiko Shoes for their Spring 2012 collection. I'll put it simple: amazing shoes, trendy and versatile designs and so comfty. This post contains a lot of photos so I'll stop writing here.

Citrics

You won't see me in an outfit like this one very often, sometimes I love neutrals and simple pieces but I also like to be as bright as citric fruits. I made this outfit thinking about a friend who asked on facebook "Which trend for SS? neons or pastels?" and I thought why not both? Ok, maybe the colors in this outfit aren't exactly neons but they're very bright indeed, and they work with pastels!

On a different side note, my camera broke down this weekend, I'm looking for somebody to fix it but it seems like it's going to be almost as expensive as buying a new body (which I still can't afford). Lucky me I had a few outfits ready to be posted but I won't be able to post as much as I like to.

Maybe I should wear another bright outfit again to cheer up a little bit.

Same old street

I love dresses with a special touch, simple and comfortable dresses that you can use on many ocassions but not boring at all. This one from Minted Republic is one of my latest favorites, because it's got all I want from a dress including some fake leather and an open back. Perfect for this summer that's actually feeling very hot already.

Another simple yet chic almost monocromatic outfit. There's not much to say, except that I cut out the sleeves from this shirt because it's already too hot to wear bulky sleeves.

Vacations summary

Mexy mint knit, Forever21 leather shorts

I want to share a few photos from the vacations I took a couple of weeks ago, nothing special.

Mint for everyday

Sometimes there is no time to be creative with your outfits, sometimes you're rushing to get the bus, be on time at work or maybe you just don't feel like thinking too much about what to wear. I've had this issue for a long time since I enter to university, high school was easy because we wore uniforms and there was no need to be creative everyday, but at uni I really want to make some effort.

My solution: comfortable clothes with an splash of color, simple accesories and a pair of flattering shoes. In this case I chose an almost full mint outfit, comfortable jeans and a loose mint oversized knit from Mexy perfect for spring and summer because the stitching is very wide. I walked around Downtown, San Diego with this outfit and all I can think about is that I can't wait to go back for a kebab.

I love Tijuana's weather, it allows you to coordinate outfits with garments from all seasons. I can handle the cold weather very well on my legs, but I always need to have my arms covered because they're very sensitive, that's why you see me wearing a lot of shorts with jumpers/jackets/coats. I love to mix and match my clothes but summer doesn't go very well with layering, so I'm not excited about it but it's definitely a good reason to get creative.

Stars are gold

I hope you're doing well this days, I know I am! I have been enjoying my vacations going from city to city and eating a lot of yummy and fatty food.

We took this photos in Balboa Park, one of my favorites places in San Diego, California along with Traders Joe's and the malls of course. It's a very simple outfit, two pieces and a pair of statement shoes, I also wore an orange clutch but I forgot it in the car... so yeah, no bag!

I'm a person who prefers to wear separates than a dress or a full match suit, I think it's so fun to mix and match colors and textures. It's a lot easier to have many garments and have 'endless' options than a dress or a jumpsuit, specially if you hate to wear the same thing twice like me. Also, they are a lot more casual because for some people a dress it's already too formal.

I'm already on vacations and I'll try to take many pictures :) new outfits and silly daily things because many of you asked me to do it and... from now on I'll write in spanish too :)
