But not on your face, in your purse. I have a friend who recently lost her make-up bag and it contained
everything she uses on a daily basis, and I thought "If that ever happens to me, I would go crazy!" but then I thought I could never have this problem because I always keep my make-up bag to the minimum (well, maybe it could happen on a trip, hopefully I'll never be in that situation!)
My cosmetic case. It's the size of my hand.
1. Buy a small cosmetic bag.
Darker colors are prefered because they're easier to mantain. If something else doesn't fit, don't take it with you!
2. Don't take your foundation with you.
It can suffer many things: it can brake if it's glass (like mine), it can spill all over your cosmetics or you can lose it. Also, most foundation containers are too big to carry with you.
3. Double use for everything.
You know you can use mascara as eyeliner too? just take a small liner brush and mascara works fantastic for those quick touch ups!
You can use your foundation as concealer (or viceversa), eyeshadow for contouring and highlighting. Also, if you have dry/normal skin, you can use your lipstick on your cheeks.
4. Use small containers.
If you really need to take it with you, use a small plastic container and only fill it with a small amount. To keep your other make-up safe from your foundation, wrap it in a small plastic bag.
5. Don't carry around all your lipsticks and/or lipglosses.
They take a lot of space, and if for some reason you left your purse in a hot place, you're in risk of them melting. Carry what you're using that day.
In my cosmetic case: e.l.f. Translucent Matifying Powder, NYX lipstick, Chanel blush (with brush),
L.A. Girl High Definition concealer.
6. Buy a palette.
Clinique makes some awesome palettes that include blush, eyeshadow and sometimes glosses, everything in a small compact including a mirror. They really save a lot of space! If you don't have a palette, just take with you what you really need, if you feel your blush needs retouching but your eyeshadow doesn't, then maybe a blush compact with a little brush is the solution :)
7. Be honest with yourself.
Do you really have to carry an eyelash curler with you? or your make-up remover?
Forget about brushes, fingers are your best tools at the end of the day, just make sure they're clean.
Hopefully this tips can save you lots of space in your purse (especially now that clutchs are trendy but you can't fit anything in them).
