Our poor feet.

Beauty fashion is unconventional. In every woman's life there is the situation of going out with our newest, taller and killer high heels to dance, to a party or just because we want to. We know what is going to happen after a few hours, we know our feet are going to hurt like hell very soon, yet we still do it. We still stop at every window store looking at high-heels deciding which one we should buy next time, even if we have realized we aren't going to use them that often (as a friend said, a woman can never have enough bags and shoes).

The reason is simple: we're short, our legs are short, we like them, we like the sound of the heels while we walk, we feel prettier, we want a heels collection, we need them in all colors, we need a pair for winter, another for summer and an intermediate one too, we want to have them in different textures, we have a fetish with shoes.

From the simpliest reason to the most extreme one, we can't deny high-heels are never going to be out of trend so it's a good investment (well, that's what I like to say to my boyfriend even if he doesn't ask). Take care of your feet with cream, exfoliation and adhesive bandages. And let's thank fashion for wedges, flats and sandals :)

Also, after reading about this woman who owns more than 1,200 pairs of shoes (700 of them are Louboutin) I cannot feel bad about spending on shoes!

Naturally CHANEL

Last week, I received a notice that made me really happy. El from Classy & Fabulous was hosting a giveaway on her blog and... I was the winner! When I read her e-mail it was 6:30 a.m. and I didn't know if it was real or if I was still daydreaming haha.

Joues Constrate Powder Blush Rose Ecrin 68: A lovely cool pink shade.
Le Vernis Nail Color Ballerina 167: Soft pink that I'm going to use to make french manicure :)
Inimitable Intense Mascara Noir 10: AMAZING mascara. Gives a lot of volume, length, it doesn't flake and it's so easy to remove with make-up remover.
Levres Scintillantes Glossimier Futile 139: Very shimmery soft pink perfect for any skin tone.

Thank you so much El! all the products are really classy and fabulous and suit me really well :) I must say the mascara is wonderful! I think I can't live without it ♥

Feeling the past moving in, letting a new day begin

Turquoise shirt from my mom; scallop peach shorts and white quilted bag from eBay; white pumps from lovely shoes.

Yesterday my luck was awful :( because I was so careless my car is in a very bad state now and I cannot use it. I feel relieved that my mom is going to pay the costs but I still feel pretty stupid (the temperature went very high and I didn't notice it).
Bothering people with giving you a ride is not cool :/

Photo diary

My hair grows like grass, but I hardly do anything with it (maybe that's why it grows so fast and it's so healthy). Today I did a different french braid.

I love to eat healthy and small portions...

... but I'm not anorexic like many people think, and I always like to indulge myself with yummy things.
I also love doramas (asian dramas) they're the best! much better than mexican dramas that were very well done before but now they're the same old story with the same cliche ending.

When my cat sleeps, I always feel lazy. Today I took a nap after I saw her so comfortable :3

In the afternoon I went with my friend Carlos to my favorite cafe, he had a delicious vanilla chai frappe and I had a baguette with a raspberry tea.

I really love the atmosphere.

Drinking wine and killing time, sitting in the summer sun

ASOS coral shirt; green pleated skirt from eBay; vintage Hinson bag (eBay also); GLO wedges.

Cheerful colors for a happy day :)
Thanks a lot to the people who left me a comment about my frustration. I think we all have that kind of feelings from time to time, but the important step is to get up and continue with our decisions.

And as I have 'friends' that don't care a lot about me, I have wonderful and beautiful loyal friends that are always with me when I need it (Karen I love you!), people who love me for what I am and have me lots of patience, like my boyfriend. I have many things: a career I truly love, a future in beautiful cities, a brother who loves me and of course, I have myself to reach whatever I can think of.

Nude dupe lipstick, expensive and cheap.

Being a make-up addict I always like to try new things and brands, even if I have 4 red lipsticks there's always room for a new shade from a new brand. Using all of these, I found out there are really good brands out there that won't leave your pocket empty.

One of my favorites are nude lipsticks, especially on winter when I love to do a smokey eye. They're sometimes hard to do depending on the tone of your skin. Most nude lipsticks are a beige neutral tone which can be difficult to rock if you have black or too white skin. More important, is necessary to have a very defined eye make-up (dark or with bright colors) so it doesn't look like you're dead, putting an extra amount of blush for that healthy look is a must (for me, at least!).

Expensive: MAC Viva Glam Lady Gaga 2 $14

Amazing shade, I'm NC35 and this looks great with my skin, very natural and soft. It's a nude lipstick with a little bit of pink tone. It has a vanilla scent just like all MAC lipsticks and it's moisturising without been too soft or sticky, the packaging is the classic MAC lipstick with red accents and Lady Gaga's signature. The negative side of this lipstick is that you can't get it easily because it's a limited edition and of course, price isn't that cheap.

Cheap: NYX Round lipstick Honey 590 $4

Very moisturising, sometimes a little bit too much and you can feel like the lipstick is moving around, works better if you fill your lips with a lipliner first. Packaging is cheap but still functional. It doesn't have the nice scent of vanilla, but it's not awful either. Price is too good to resist and it's always available.

Both are pretty much the same matte shade.
Which one would you buy?

Romance is a game for fools

Black pleated jumpsuit from ASOS; leopard belt from Forever21; cotton and leather bag from ALDO; black platforms from lovely-shoes.net

I'm sick of everything. Sick of doing nothing, sick of not finding a job because I need to finish my social service, my internship and my english classes for the university, sick of not having money to travel or even to go and have a nice coffee. Sick of the "poor" people who complain about not having any money but go on vacation at every opportunity they have, buying expensive cell phones and clothes. Sick of those "friends" who tell me how much they care about me and can go for months without any notice from them. Fucking tired of everything.

Men still think we dress for them.

Woman have the opportunity to have a bigger closets most of the time because of one single reason: we have many type of clothes made for us. From shorts to skirts, jumpsuits, dresses, blouses, shirts, pants, socks, bustiers, blazers, jackets, suits, cardigans, etc. we can enjoy the variety of pieces designers make for us each season.

But what about feeling good with youself and wearing all that? if you have enough confidence to wear a short skirt because you know your legs are irresistible, good for you! but what if you're not? I think I'm not mistaken by saying that most women aren't secure enough of their looks most of the time.

What happens when, aside from the lack of confidence, guys talk about our style or the way we like to dress? Last week I was checking thefashionspot.org style/trends articles, and I came with one in particular that I think it's ridiculous. They asked guys if "X" women's trend is good or not, and long skirts and floppy hats came to the talk.

"Save your midi skirts for the office. Guys wanna see those legs, and this skirt just isn’t doing it for them this season. What will? A short skirt or a pair of Daisy Dukes. Shocker, we know.
(...)
Hate it (floppy hats), what the hell are you covering??? Just wear shades and grab a brush. There are really only 2 places where this hat works: 1) at the beach and 2) at a horse race.
Floppy hats can be nice, but you should probably think twice before rocking one."

....wait, what?

Wearing a long skirt and hiding our legs doesn't make us less sexy or provocative as we can be with the tiniest pair of shorts or the biggest floppy hat. So what's the problem? men are still thinking we dress for them, not for us!

Being sexy, provocative, thin, curvy or showing too much skin doesn't make you a woman. The way you think, the way you present yourself to the world and the things you do that's what makes you a true woman, and no man or any other person should limit the way YOU want to dress, speak, feel or love.

So, I'm sorry guys, I'm going to wear my long skirts whenever I want just like I'm going to use my tiny pair of shorts whenever I want, and because I'm showing skin it doesn't mean I need your "approval" to be sexy, it means I feel confident with myself.

I don't think we can really be friends, but I'll try again

July wishlist

Gorgeous dove print jumpsuit from H&M; vertical stripes red top for a very specific outfit I have in mind; lace shorts; heart shaped red sunglasses for that Lolita look.

What do you think about lace shorts? I find them very cute and sexy but some people think they look like lingerie. I'll be honest and say that I'm really liking them to show my legs that are getting better with all the spinning I've been doing.

C'mon don't amuse me, I don't need your sympathy

Vintage shirt from my mom's closet; scalloped peach shorts from eBay; platform shoes from lovely-shoes.net

Ugh, there's something I really hate about summer vacations: the heat. I live in a city where a "normal" summer temperature is 45°C, in our worst days we could reach 50°C and I think the record was 55°C on the shadow. Could you imagine that? I laugh my ass off when I see movies where the plot is in a jungle and they say something like "in a burning heat of 30°..." wait, what? seriously?!

So I made this outfit, pretty simple but I think it's catchy. The shirt is actually a light blazer that my mom had had in her closet for many years, I had to modify it and remove the shoulder pads, which I think made it look antique.

How to find bargains on eBay.com

In summer vacations, I find myself in a position where I need to save money because it's going to be my mom and boyfriend's birthdays soon, if we add that I don't receive any money unless I get a job (which I've been trying to find! but that's another story), shopping becomes hard to achieve, if not impossible.

That doesn't mean I can't get a few pieces pretty cheap, and my secret is: eBay. But you need to know how to buy and how to find the pieces. Let me share with you part of my experiences.

Some of my best purchases. From left to right: Zara sweater $2.10, GAP pleated skirt new with tags $7.99, green pleated skirt new with tags $19.99, H&M black pleated dress $15.70. All prices include shipping.

1. Put a limit for your bids.
Of course, it totally depends on the piece, maybe you'll spend more on shoes than on a skirt. But putting a limit is a basic strategy to find those bargains. We don't want to spend too much, so if an item ends up too high, let's just forget about it and not be impulsive with shopping (at least, not this time).

2. You can always look for your favorite designer.
Ok, so maybe not Dolce & Gabbana or Chanel, but I've tried to look for Michael Kors, Betsey Johnson, Marc by Marc Jacobs and that kind of designers and I always have results with decent prices. You can also look for your favorite high street store like H&M, Zara, Top shop, ModCloth, etc.

3. Look for the lowest priced items, if they have free shipping, awesome!
Always sort your results by "Price + shipping: lowest first". Sometimes the sellers list the same item many times with different prices, this way you're getting sure you're getting the best deal.

4. Save the items on your watch list.
Remember to check the time left on the auction, sometimes you can find a bargain that's ending soon but you'll find many that have 6+ days left and you have to be patient. Save those items on your watch list so you can see the progress.

From left to right: H&M grey corset $7.20, Zara skirt new with tags $14.45, Chloé blush dress $215.35, ASOS trench coat new with tags  $21.50. All prices include shipping

5. Be patient, and wait to the last minute to bid!
It's always a great feeling to find a beautiful piece at a great price and we hurry to place a bid. Big mistake! is always better to wait to the last minute because if you put a bid to early, the others bidders will feel the same urge to be first. It's not about who placed most bids or who placed the earliest bid in order to win.
Be patient, wait to the last minute and place your maximum bid (which, if you have not used eBay before, doesn't mean you're going to pay that price, but it means that if somebody places another bid, your bid will automatically increase until you reach your limit).

6. Do you like ROMWE's clothes? or those facebook groups that sell asian clothes?
Stop paying those prices for the same quality. Look on eBay for the words: "asia, korea, japan, china, vivi" and you'll find very similar clothes (if not the same) as in the stores that buy their clothes from a chinese factory. Sort your results by "Price + shipping: lowest first" and get crazy!

7. Check the state of the garment, size and color. Always double check.
Maybe it's too dumb to say it, but when we get too excited we always forget to read the description. Sometimes a seller will list an item with a picture that doesn't reflect the actual color, or the garment isn't new with tags. Size is pretty basic if you know your measurements or your size from that store, if you need the measurements in centimetres or inches and the seller didn't explain them, you can always ask :)

And of course! you can apply this tips to your make-up, kitchen accesories, books, gifts, etc. Remember that if you didn't win an item, don't stop looking for more, there's always something that will catch your attention!

Have fun and happy bidding!
